Design Gap Remediation

Key Controls over business processes are defined in the previous phase of our Sox Methodology:  ‘Key Control Definition and Control Design Gap Analysis’.  Some of the Key controls defined during that phase will be new, or will be only partially in place.  When a Key Control is not yet fully implemented, that situation is referred to as a ‘Design Gap’.

Design Gap Remediation is the process of ‘fixing’ Design Gaps by modifying business processes to incorporate all Key Controls.  Process Owners are responsible for ensuring that all Key Controls are implemented in their business areas, with the support of the Sox Core Team.
